It has been a long time...

It has been so long I don't know if I remember how to blog! Just kidding.  However, with the exception of the Peterson's no blogs anymore.  So this is an attempt to get friends back into it.. We shall see how it goes.

Summer 2012

Devin took swim lessons this year and passed level 1.  I was hoping he would learn to jump off the sides and put his face in the water.  He did all he needed to in order to pass the level, but I was still not fully satisfied.

The end of June I participated in my first Olympic Triathlon and had a great time!  I did much better than I thought I would and it was so rewarding!

Quinn loved going to the pool almost every day this summer.  I was hoping he would learn to swim all over the big pool with his life jacket on all by himself.  Finally with a few weeks of the summer left he accomplished that.  After I gave up being frustrated and let him have fun he learned how to do that!  So the last few weeks of the summer he swam all over the pool with friends.  Brody Durfey was great to play with Quinn, as well as my niece Abby Stevens.  Mason Stevens entertained Quinn a lot as well.  We had a great summer!

After swim lessons and me being disappointed, Devin started wearing an extra pair of goggles I had every time we went swimming.  He would go under water and find rings for long periods of time in the kiddy pool.  He was amazing and I was so proud!  He was still dependent on his floaties, and I decided I would try harder next summer to get him to swim without them.  However, the last few weeks of summer came and his floaties got holes in them.  So he played in the big pool in Bicknell without them and got more daring with each day.  He learned to swim all by himself and I was never more humbled by my sweet little boy!  I learned that with patience and care my children will become successful!  I am such a proud mom!!

Devin had a blast in the Small Fry Rodeo during the Wayne County Fair this year.  He looked the part handsomely!

  

Both Devin and Quinn rode a sheep extremely well and had a blast!

Dad took Mom out dancing for her birthday this year at the Saddlery.  Taylor, Bailey Hampton, and I joined them.

I sure love my growing boys!  I am such a happy and proud mom!  I have the cutest and coolest kids!  Yes I can be biased, and I will!

Devin is now in PreSchool and loving it.  I was excited for him to start school and grow up.  He will have many adventures come his way I am sure!
